P2P File Sizes Nearly Triple
Forbes: According to research from BigChampagne, the average size of files being shared over P2P networks has more than doubled since 2002. The average file size shared on a P2P network used to be about 3.2 megabytes = to about 1 compressed song. Today, the average file size is around 8.9 MB, which is big enough for several songs or a short video clip. Contrary to some media reports and propoganda, File sharing or Swapping isn't decreasing either..."At any given time in the U.S. there was an average of 8.6 million simultaneous users swapping files on P2P networks in April 2005, up from 7.6 million last year." And believe it or not according to April's figures - the top 5 video files swapped were related to: The Simpsons, American Idol, Family Guy, Desperate Housewives, and The O.C...
