Indie Radio Waves
The war of words is getting ugly in the L.A. radio scene as Mighty Mighty Bosstones frontman Dicky Barrett has aired his version of what went down with his recent exit as the morning show at Indie 103.1 via the L.A. Voice.
While the Entravision station says Dicky left to concentrate on his Jimmy Kimmel Live apperances, the gruff Bosstone says, "I was fired for being unwilling to be... more mainstream." He explains that plans were hatched to reshape his still developing, free-flowing Mighty Morning Show into a more formatted entity and he went along with it for a while, but says the whole thing blew up and put him on the street. The station is searching for a new morning show and Dave "I'll Do Anything Just Tell Me Where To Show Up" Navarro has been filling in a bit.
Other scuttlebutt says Dicky's may also be out of a gig at the Kimmel show.
