Independents Make Stand Against Combined Music Chart

Indie labels are unconvinced by claims by the British Phonographic Industry that they are doing just as well in downloads as the bigger labels and have made an official complaint to the Office of Fair Trading about the proposal to combine the download and singles charts.  "We have been very concerned for some time that the date set for the launch of the combined chart is extremely premature, given the rather tentative supply chain structure at the moment," said Aim chairman and CEO Alison Wenham. The combined chart is due to launch on sunday, so the decision better be quick...
