Loudeye Teams With Satellite Interactive to Launch CokeTunes in New Zealand

Press Release:  Loudeye announced today that it has teamed up with Satellite Interactive to launch "CokeTunes" - a Coca-Cola branded digital music service for the New Zealand market. For the first time, music from major label artists can be downloaded from the internet legally after previewing free 30 second track samples...Currently loaded with 570,000 songs, the site requires Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer. However this announcement has an interesting and compelling twist - the softdrink maker is generously donating proceeds from every track sold to a Music Fund that will make grants to young musicians...

Tracks cost $1.75 per track, and albums start from $18. Streams cost 5c per track. Users purchase credit in the store and can then stream or download tracks using that credit. To celebrate the launch, every time a customer buys a $30 credit they get an additional $30 absolutely free, but that offer is only good through the end of August...

CokeTunes is powered by LoudEye's OD2 - with over 80 music download stores operating globally. The new site will be the eighth Coca-Cola branded one supported by Loudeye and also the first digital music foray into the Pacific region for the soda giant. (Coca-Cola sites currently operate in UK, Northern Ireland, Eire, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Poland.)
