It's Waving Men

RoguewaveWe were in indie-pop heaven last night at Warsaw in Williamsburg last night, when Rogue Wave was joined by Nada Surf frontman Matthew Caws and drummer Ira Elliot onstage for their take on the Who's "Kids Are Alright." Overall, the show was the loudest and best that we've seen them, as they barrelled through some of our favorites including "Bird on a Wire," "Kicking the Heart Out" and "California." They also offered a glimpse into their next effort, with two new songs thrown in.

Opener Jason Collett, whose album we like in a great-lyrics-generically-Americana-headphone-music kind of way, surprised us with his upbeat set and tight band. Dude's somewhere between Chris Isaak and Andrew Bird, where he loves his acoustic instruments and loves his super-pop melodies.

Seriously, who couldn't love these boys?
