Rebels & Rogues
Eternally-touring rock 'n' rollers Lucero are busy on the road all the way to Christmas, natch. Frontman/hottie Ben Nichols was recently kind enough to inform Jaded Insider of highly vital information and tips to keep in mind, if ever one is faced with months of van travel, fast food and hangovers.
Considering you're on tour a billion days a year, what does the clothes-packing situation look like?
It's still pretty tight in the van, so we pack pretty light. Two pairs of jeans and then some socks, shirts, and underwear. Standard stuff. Sucks having to do laundry on the road though. Or worse, needing to do laundry on the road and not being able to get to a laundramat.
What albums does everybody in the van agree on to listen to? Which ones do you love that everybody else hates?
We all agree on the Hold Steady stuff. Everybody likes that. And you know... Van Halen is always good as well. I got a soft spot for INXS "Kick" but nobody really appreciates it the way I do for some reason.
If you could have a rider of anything you want, but only 10 items, what items would they be? (Note: one bottle of jack daniels equals one item, a harem also consists of more than one person, but a deli plate of spam and cheese is only one item, etc.)
Jack Daniels
Case of Budweiser
Case of Coca Cola
Red Bull
Water
Carton of Cigarettes
Deli Tray
Chips and Dip
9 Volt Batteries
20 Gallons of Diesel
Sounds boring... but that's the stuff I could actually use. I could ask for a million bucks every night but that just seems like cheating.
