Kanye West's Mother Dies

Kanye_mom_2Kanye West's mother has died. She was 58.

A spokesman for the Chicago native says Dr. Donda West died early Sunday (Nov. 11) in Los Angeles. Sadly, the rapper was reportedly in London filming a music video for his song "Homecoming" when it happened but immediately flew back to L.A.

Kanye has always publicly celeberated his close relationship with Dr. West. He even dedicated a song to her on his sophomore album, "Late Registartion." In the song he rhymes:

"(Hey Mama), I wanna scream so loud for you, cuz I'm so proud of you / Let me tell you what I'm about to do, (Hey Mama) / I know I act a fool, but, I promise you I'm going back to school / appreciate what you allowed for / I just want you to be proud of me (Hey Mama)."

Donda West served as chief executive of the parent company of her son's business enterprises, West Brands LLC. She also chaired the Kanye West Foundation. In addition, she was the former chairwoman of Chicago State University's English department and recently published the book "Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star," which details Kanye's childhood and her experiences as her son's manager.

A cause of death hasn't been released.

J.I. sends prayers to both Kanye and his family.

When I was in my late teens a friend of mine, an elite athlete, gave me the most profound yet simple advice that changed the way I would view myself forever. He told me "You yourself have to think you're great because no one else is going to tell you that you are."

Everyone handles grief differently. Just because someone shows little or no emotion it doesn't mean that they don't care. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors. And besides- who the hell cares what other people think anyway?

So if the mother quits breathing or her heart stops beating, then the baby will likely begin to die within four minutes just like for adult..
