Idol Worship: This Week In 'AI' History
This week last year, Chikezie took his final bow on March 26. The soft-spoken soul-man, who was David Archuleta's roommate for his short time on season 7, failed to impress voters with his take on Luther Vandross' "If Only For One Night," the song he chose for the Year They Were Born week. Of course, that was the same week David Cook sparked serious contender chatter (and a bit of controversy) with his show-stopping performance of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" (rearranged the Chris Cornell way). Chikezie may have been knocked out early, but he did make it one step further than this season's Alexis Grace — he at least joined the lineup for Idol's 2008 summer tour.
What's Chikezie doing now? He's still chasing the dream. The Los Angeles native never returned to his pre-Idol day job as a TSA officer at LAX. In fact, he's currently out on the road with fellow AI alums Melinda Doolittle, Phil Stacey and Gina Glocksen for the "American Stars in Concert: Spring Break” tour, scheduled to hit Kalamazoo, Michigan on the anniversary of his elimination.

Thanks for this reminder!
Chikezie is a favorite of mine from Season 7. His Top 12 and Top 11 performances have to go into the vault of Idol-wow! I can't wait to see him and my other favs in April when the tour comes to New Jersey! They have tour info on their official websites: Melinda (www.melindadoolittle.com), Phil (www.philstacey.com) and Gina (www.rocktheglock.com).
Thanks, again! ;-)

As a fan of Adam Lambert, I was disappointed to see that his high notes at the end of his song, "Mad Mad World" did not appear in the review at the end of the program. I assume the reviews are pre=recorded. I love Adam's voice and looks, but wish he would keep the "clean look" going. I think it would get him more votes. I don't care if he's gay..after all we are not watching the "Dating Game"
