The Guggenheim Grotto @ The Canal Room - 8/9, NY

I went to check out The Guggenheim Grotto at The Canal Room last week. I was excited to check them out after hearing their iTunes single of the week, Waltzing Alone.

Lucy opened the show. She had a backup singer and bass with her on stage. She was really fun to watch and you could tell she was really excited to be playing.

The Guggenheim Grotto put on a great show. Their harmonies are really unique and had a raw but refined sound (if that makes any sense)

The only bad thing was, their sound is quite mellow. It had been a rainy week in NY so after a while, I was so relaxed, I wanted to curl up in one of the booths and take a nap.

curl up and take a nap? sounds like a) you were ridiculously exhausted or b) they play nice sleepy music. though having a raw yet refined sound makes me think they'd have a bit mroe kick then sleepy music. hmm...
