Other than my family, live music has always been one of the greatest joys of my life. From seeing Simon and Garfunkel as a child to following the Grateful Dead during college to photographing Citizen Cope at the House of Blues earlier this year, live music has always been a part of my life. Nothing beats the rush of the crowd as the house lights go down and the stage lights go up, when the first chords of the opening song are played and everybody knows the song, everyone sings along. That is the energy that I have tried to capture in my concert photography.

I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, San Diego, in the sun drenched, laid back part of Southern California. When I am not photographing models for a living, I spend my time with my wife and five-year-old boxer. The rest of my spare time is spent split between surfing, scuba diving and the martial arts.

Years ago I went to a class taught by famous Los Angeles photographer and he showed a series of fantastic photos, from a set he had taken at his studio. The catch was that instead of using his high-end cameras, he was using a cell phone camera. What a great idea, and now I get to do the same thing.
