Soren McCarty

A professional concert photographer, Soren McCarty has been a staff photographer at Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheater since 2000. He is also the House photographer for the Fox theatre in Boulder, as well as the chief photographer for Marquee Magazine.

Funny Story. His first concert was Mötley Crüe opening For Ozzy Osborne in 1984; he was in 6th grade at the time. This was when some people thought heavy metal was Satanic and had hidden messages that could be heard when the record was played backwards. Soren's 6th grade teacher, a Jewish man who became a born again Christian, was concerned about Soren attending an Ozzy concert because of all the hype and rumors surrounding Ozzy's stage antics. You could only imagine how disappointed Soren was when he saw that there were no animals getting their heads chewed off or any of the other things his teacher had warned him about; Ozzy was just a singing fat guy with tattoos.

Soren's work has been included in countless publications around the globe, among them Billboard, Rolling Stone, Spin, Time, Newsweek, Playboy, Elle, The New York Times, and The Onion.
