ENTOURAGE! Ok, you know I had to make that reference. Once again, I got to head down to Joe's Pub to check out Ari Gold's CD Release party. Woohoo. The place was packed so I found a place at the bar to enjoy the show from. To be honest, I had no idea what to make of the show when I got there. They were setting up a few stands for his backup singers. They were both wearing masquerade-ish masks. Throw in the guitarist, drums and saxaphone. It was crowded up there. Actually, I think there was a keyboardist, too.

So, I've really enjoyed covering shows all summer long but I have to say, The Click Five at Radio City was probably the one I was looking forward to most. I really wasn't sure what to expect when I got there but I guess I should have known it would be a crowd of tween girls and their parents. I felt out of place but I didn't care because I love The Click Five and their new album. I couldn't wait to see the show, especially since it is the first tour since their new singer, Kyle Patrick, joined the band.

I went to check out The Guggenheim Grotto at The Canal Room last week. I was excited to check them out after hearing their iTunes single of the week, Waltzing Alone.

I was really excited to go check out Michael Buble at Radio City Music Hall. I've only been there once to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I was curious to see how a live concert was in the space. Overall, I'd have to rank his concert as one of my top five most entertaining concerts EVER.

I’ve been trying to catch one of Kacie Sheik’s shows for months now, they always seem to be in the middle of the week when work is busiest for me. Anyway, I finally got to catch her at Symphony Space’s Unwined event. I really enjoy acoustic sets, they feel more personal and the artist’s talent becomes so much more apparent when it is just them and a guitarist.

I headed down to The Box to check out Brett Dennen on the 25th.
I was a little shocked when I got there and found this sign staring at me at the entrance.

Bowery Ballroom is another one of my favorite venues in the city. I was lucky enough to catch Ben Jelen’s CD release show on Monday night. The new album, which came out yesterday, is called Ex-SENSITIVE. Ben’s manager came out before the show and gave a little introduction.

Last Friday, I caught Dispatch’s first of three sold-out
shows at Madison Square Garden.
I had never been to The Garden before
(don’t hate, I’m not into sports and I’ve only seen a show at the MSG Theater)
and when I walked onto the floor, I was in awe of the space. It was HUGE and the security guards that led
me and my friend Laura to our seats laughed at me when I said this was my first
time there. We had awesome seats, fourth
row on the aisle. We arrived pretty
early and it was pretty empty. I turned
to Laura and asked her (this was before I knew the shows were sold out) “Do you
think this whole place will be packed when the show starts?” Sure enough, the place was filled with
screaming fans of all ages.

I managed to catch a portion of Audio Fiction’s show at Rock
Room 45 last night. It was a really fun
show -- the crowd was energetic and the band was great! Ok, I have to say I’m slightly biased because
Darren (on bass) is my karaoke-duet-partner-in-crime. I was really excited to finally see him
perform live (and to check out the new ‘stache). The only bad think about the night was I
couldn’t stay for the whole show!

Yesterday, I caught DJ Dolores & Aparelhagem at S.O.Bs
in New York. They have a really unique sound, mixing
synthesizers and breakbeats with live instrumental music. This included acoustic guitars, electric guitars,
percussion, and keyboards.
